Athens Outlet Village is a planned 350,000 square foot outlet center in Athens, Alabama. In partnership with Lease America, Fisher Companies and its affiliate, Fisher Development Company, plan to open this project in 2002 - 2003. Leasing for the new center is now underway.

This center will be constructed on a 41 acre site at the intersection of U.S. Highway 72 and I-65. The plans call for 60 to 70 manufacturers outlet stores and a hotel. Located outside of Huntsville in the Northern Alabama region, Athens is a gateway to the outdoor recreation of the Tennessee River Valley and the interactive exhibits of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. In 1996, the Alabama Mountain Lakes Association reported that nearly 4.6 million visitors were recorded in the region. The site is located along the region's only North-South interstate.
